WIC Director - Full time
Monroe County Health Department
Seeking a dedicated and organized full-time WIC Director, 32 hours/week, Monday-Friday, with some evening and weekend work as assigned.
Benefits include paid sick and vacation leave, 11 paid holidays, PERS, and health, dental, vision, and life insurance. The applicant must be an Ohio Licensed Dietitian (LD) or Registered Dietitian (RD). Registered Nurse (RN) resumes will also be accepted. The applicant should have experience as a qualified WIC Health Professional, management, community/public health, maternal, child, and infant nutrition. Must have excellent computer skills, time management skills, ability to multitask and be self-motivated. Must attend required trainings/meetings, have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance.
Job Responsibilities include:
- Act as a liaison to State WIC agency on behalf of the subrecipient agency.
- Assure compliance with Ohio WIC policies and procedures and WIC federal regulations.
- Oversee all functions of the local WIC program to meet program requirements, including certification, nutrition and breastfeeding education, food issuance, caseload management, and outreach activities.
- Provide management and oversight to WIC staff, including hiring, training, and supervision.
- Ensure separation of duties to maintain program integrity and prevent conflicts of interest.
- Ensure participants receive quality services and appropriate benefits.
- Collaborate with community partners to promote the WIC program.
- Will also function as a Certifying WIC Health Professional: assess participant’s nutrition risk, provide nutrition and breastfeeding education, implement care plans, prescribe food packages, issue food benefits, complete heights, weights, and laboratory work, provide referrals.
Salary: $29/hour
